CMEA Certified Machinery and Equipment
Appraisers - Appraisals

A machinery and/or equipment appraisal is an independent and unbiased written report setting forth an opinion of value for certain machinery and/or equipment as of a specific date. The basis of the appraisal can be the fair market value in place and in use, the most likely selling price given a reasonable period of time to market the assets, or the forced liquidation value.

Not all machinery and equipment appraisals are the same. A CMEA is a Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser which is a coveted professional designation granted by the NEBB Institute to appraisers who have taken extensive educational courses and have passed a comprehensive written exam. CMEA appraisers must also attend continuing education courses and comply with strict ethical standards.

Certified appraisals are needed by business owners, lenders, leasing companies, accountants, and attorneys for various reasons that include:

  • Business Sales
  • Buy Out Agreements
  • Divorce Settlements
  • Insurance
  • Leases
  • Litigation
  • Loans/Financing
  • Machinery and Equipment Purchase or Sale Decisions
  • Mergers
  • Probate
  • Business Dissolutions

The Pacific Business Advisors staff includes a CMEA who can appraise your machinery and equipment. Call Mark Tzalka, CBB, CMEA directly to obtain a certified appraisal.
