Affinity Marketing

Affinity marketing involves collaborative brand marketing comprising a partnership between two or more companies with the same or similar ideas in order to acquire new customers or clients while retaining existing customers and clients. Affinity marketing can greatly reduce costs while opening up new channels to consumers. Affinity marketing is a process of converting passive referrals into active referrals. Affinity marketing is not the same as Affiliate Marketing.

Examples of affinity marketing include:

  • Credit Card Programs in which discounts on purchases are given when the card is used at partner stores or restaurants,
  • When two companies work together to create a joint product or service, or
  • When loyalty programs are created that involve two or more companies.
